When you are going through the trials of life, it is easy to question the existence of God. It’s easy to listen to people who feel like you are wasting your time, on a God that doesn’t care enough to help you in your tough situations, but yet you still believe in Him.
God gives us all free will to choose, to listen, to obey and to believe, but for many people they can’t comprehend how an amazing God can see so many things going wrong and yet do nothing about it. But God is a just God; He gave us the freedom to choose, whether good or bad, so if people choose to do bad things the fact that He gave us that freedom means that He really has no business to interfere, until we call on Him for help.
When you call on His name He will answer, and even in the time when you call on Him and it feels like He’s not listening, just be assured that His plan is not to harm you. So though He may not give you something or help you in a situation, at the moment that you think you need Him, know that so long as you’ve given your needs to Him, in His perfect time He will answer.
“….For the LORD is a God of justice; Blessed are all those who wait for Him.” Isaiah 30:18 (NKJV)
There are countless moments when I have questioned the existence of God; when I’ve seen people “demonstrating” in church and wondered ‘are they for real or are they just wild in their imagination’. That doesn’t make me less of a Christian because in those moments I am being honest with myself and with God. In those moment I know that there is a God but I am struggling to believe He cares, that is when I tell Him how I feel and He in turn shows me just how much He cares.
“Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7 (NKJV)
My time on this journey with God has proven to me that God is very real, and I am not burdened with the need to convince others of His existence. I have vowed to speak once and let God do the rest because it is He alone that reveals Himself to each and every one of us.
“But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.” 1 Corinthians 2:10 (NKJV)
